The goal of the Duke Quality Imaging Standard (DQIS) is to establish a framework through which a consistently high level of imaging quality can be achieved and maintained, throughout the Duke University Health System including all its affiliate facilities.
DQIS is a joint initiative between the Clinical Imaging Physics Group (CIPG), Clinical Engineering (CE), and the Radiation Safety Division (RSD) at Duke University. Their consortium oversees this standard.
Imaging based clinical units at DUHS should comply with the DQIS initiative and process. DQIS involves 33 distinct steps outlined on this webpage. Each step should be satisfactorily completed by a qualified physicist, engineer, or RSO, as indicated. Appropriate forms maybe downloaded from this webpage. Once all steps are complete, the clinical unit may seek a DQIS compliance certification by contacting the DQIS secretary.
